Dear All,
Volunteer nurses, doctors, street medics and health advocates who have been providing post-Sandy relief met tonight with representatives of FEMA and the Department of Health and Human Services. This is the take-home of our meeting:
1) there are urgent unmet needs--including many serious medical and public health needs
2) FEMA and HHS representatives told us their hands are tied until city government requests more assistance from state government, then state government requests more assistance from federal
3) we're storming City Hall this Friday, 11/16, 12 PM to tell Bloomberg he needs to move on this
