"* The executive council of 1199 SEIU, New York City's largest union, has unanimously voted to endorse Brooklyn district attorney candidate Kenneth Thompson, according to sources close to the union. The health care workers union had supported incumbent District Attorney Charles Hynes in past elections, and its largely African-American and Latino membership could be an asset for Thompson as he looks to solidify his support in those communities. “Ken’s impressive life story, strong record fighting for justice, and deep commitment to standing up for working families are what make him the clear choice in this race,”1199 President George Gresham said in a statement. "Ken is the right leader with the right vision to bring real change to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.
