Quinn’s downtown blindside
Manhattan: During the evacuation of NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital, I remembered how Mayor Bloomberg and his puppet, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, failed to keep St. Vincent’s Hospital open. We later learned that Quinn took contributions from the Rudin family, which wants to build condos on the former hospital’s site, to fill her mayoral campaign war chest. It is shameful that New Yorkers have been denied access to an emergency care facility in the downtown area where a disaster has hit again. It’s one of the many things that make her unfit to lead this city. Remember next Election Day. Phoebe Bardot
