Suzannah, a step toward the end of “Stop and Frisk” happened today, but the fight to abolish it entirely continues. Tell the NYC council “Stop and Frisk” has got to go. Vote to overturn Bloomberg’s veto of the Community Safety Act.
Great news came out of the district court today where a judge concluded that the controversial “Stop and Frisk” law has violated the 4th and 14th Amendment rights of hundreds of thousands of men of color in New York.
Next week the council votes on Mayor Bloomberg’s veto of the Community Safety Act, which put significant restrictions on implementation of his law. Organizers are saying the vote to overturn is going to be close and any pressure on the council can make a real impact.
Tell the NYC council Stop and Frisk has got to go! Vote to overturn Bloomberg’s veto of the Community Safety Act, today!
