Two events this week. . .

Would you like to voice concern for the new Donnell Library, shrunken down to 1/3 its original size and mostly underground, underneath a luxury high rise with condos and hotel?  The entire Donnell library was sold off cheaply so now the Penthouse apartment is selling for the same price as the 5 Story Donnell building sold for in 2008.  Is this swapping a publicly owned successful library for billionaires apartments the blueprint for the next sell offs?  

Come to Community Board 5 meeting on Monday, May 6, at 6:00-7:30, 7 East 15St SGI-USA NY Culture Center, Where they will be talking about Donnell and voices from the community might be heard.  

Second event:  Wednesday is the Rally at the 42 St Central Reference Library at 3:30 and at 5:00, (5th Avenue between 40th and 42St). We will greet the NYPL Trustees coming into and out of the building.  We will bring signs or you can make your own like, Trustees of Real Estate? Trustees of Libraries?  Will the Real Trustees Please Stand Up!
