On Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, West 12 Street and Greenwich Village residents received one more kick in the ass when they lost their ability to park vehicles thanks to Rudin family greed --- trying finding a parking spot, receive deliveries and even discharge passages along West 12 Street as Bill Rudin keeps gobbling up entire sidewalks and streets as well as with help from NYC gov pals preventing the community from having protective zoning for a hospital only.
This on one on the narrowest passages in the village --- the remaining sidewalk is in spots is just a bit under three feet --- only allowing one person to pass at a time.
The new troubles stem because of the installation of even more "No Standing Anytime Construction" signs along the north side of West 12 Street between Seventh and Sixth Avenues.
The previously installed jersey barriers that lined West 12th Street appear to have been moved even further into the lane of traffic as only a week ago although close it was possible to pass even a double parked car on the block not so after they moved the barriers.
Again one has to keep asking where is Dept of Building in all this?
New Yorkers through out the City believe it takes dead bodies for mayor Bloomberg and Dept of Building to come out their coma--- and put safety before greed and than, even than it is back to greed mode with all city agencies that do the mayor and his corrupt greedy pals bidding.
Note that Mike threw away the requirement that his top commissioners has the proper creditenials with the exception of Commissioner Kelly so the Robert Limandri I believe has no engineering degree but Mike Bloomberg does and he still pushes reckless greed before the Safety and HEALTH, yes health of New Yorkers because Mike does nothing to fight for a hospital especially in the W. Village where The Rudin Family Greed -- his BFF -- are depriving the community along with their wealthy stupid condo buyers of a Trauma Level 1 hospital -- no AIDS care, no Rape Crisis Center just lux condos.
Who ever installed the signs drove a sign post into the tree base that surrounds a much valued West 12 Street Tree, the post likely damaged the trees roots. Yesterday the sign has been removed from the post and placed on a plastic barrier opposite Rudin's 130 property. The Rudin workers stick sign posts in the tree's roots -- carelessly placed --- is Dept of Building monitoring any of this or as usual green lighting the Tsunami of Community Crushing Development -- the Speed of Greed and Corrupt Dealings?
It is my understanding that these signs will soon appear of the south side of West 11 Street. How much room is needed? Dept of Building does not seem to care. People live on these blocks and need to walk!!!! So far the West Village has lost a much needed hospital that served as the areas only Level One Trauma Center and their ability to park and even walk of the streets that surround the "Great Walls of Rudin"
The signs stop adjacent to Rudin's 130 West 12th Street property so luckily the moving vans for his new tenants will not have any trouble.
Their new digs should also have some visitors as almost every building on West 11 and West 12 Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue has been inundated with small rodents! One resident reported that her cat had caught six mice, I have personally seen rats about the 11 Street side of the Cronin building. Your would think that after stealing away the property Bill would spend some cash on rodent extermination.
To date Cy Vance has not prosecuted the St. Vincent's Crooks perhaps because he fears the wrath of Rudin and Howard Rubenstien that some people call "god".
If u want a top job at NYC gov working for Mike, Rubenstein must interview you.
In the face of Rudin Family Greed -- and note I am a Jew and fear the Rudin's continue to stoke the fires of anti-Semitism -- the Rudin's like Bloomberg hire high priced spin masters to say they are the Mother Teresa of Real Estate by the actions here are labelled evil. It just is pure evil and greed and backed by Christine Quinn not Jewish!
For now St. Vincent's cross remains and the ghosts haunting this corruption as media giants have their reporters kill the news stories of community angers, deaths because St. V is not open and small biz dying as well as Dept of Building aiding and abetting or turning a blind eye?
Note also complaints of even more rats and mice due to construction.
