The Rich People of Soho Want Veteran Vendors out of work and out of the neighborhood - the rich people want the NYPD to go out there and degrade and harass vendors over inches and or feet....the rich that complain have not served our Country and they do not feel shy about calling the 1st Precinct.
When I called the Police Officer asked the location and I told him you don’t understand -- I am on the side of the Veterans. The NYPD are not used to hearing that much. Sad too because plenty of NYPD are Veterans and their parents are Veterans but when the Rich say Jump the NYPD say how high?
I am heading down to the first precinct to stand outside and quietly protest and behalf of Veteran Vendors. Apparently wealthy New Yorkers who did not serve our country put pressure on Deputy Inspector Winski to send out his officers to sweep them off the street. It could involve tape measures or sadly in my friend Eric’s case -- Eric is 81 severely handicapped so he walks like Frankenstein with bands around his lower legs and he is battling prostate cancer but cannot get a handicap status from the VA because they say his disabilities did not come while serving in the Korean War.
Eric gets depressed and asked what does a Veteran’s license mean -- on Saturdays and Sundays it means nothing -- again it gets down to inches and feet.
So sad because Eric is behind on his rent. Do the rich people of Soho want to make more Veterans homeless?
Note: Eric has been at the same spot I believe 12 years and I hope he does not die because of petty police harassment that is utter nonsense.
Around the corner at The Mercer Hotel cars park in the no standing zone all day -- illegal parked and the front door men get tips -- payment for being parking valets and the City loses money and the 01 Precinct rarely if ever tickets those illegal cares EVER!!!!!!!
