I believe in the good NYPD. The good NYPD are very brave and get a special place in Heaven.
Despite receiving an email I forwarded to Internal Affairs that seem to me to involve a voice mail I left at community affairs first precinct yesterday and an illegal NYPD parking placard and PBA card in front of the Rudin family conversion of St. Vincent's Luxury Condos where I have also witnessed a retired NYPD commander working for Bill Rudin order a young police officer from the 6th precinct to not ticket a Rudin flunkie's vehicle I still believe Kelly makes his point.
I despise Bloomberg but he has a point as well http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/mike_rips_frisk_ruling_insanity_oxQBqPLlyLPyb7L8AtHyiP
but my concern is also the large number of corrupt NYPD officers that are exposed almost daily in the newspapers from anal and vaginal rape of a school teacher, drugs dealings, see my link below for more including guns being stolen out of the 9th Precinct lockers.
I do believe in the good NYPD and their work is not erased by corrupt cops but the amount of corruption is staggering. The NYPD has to do something to make sure these kind of people with criminal behavior do not get a gun and an NYPD badge. The other issue is NYPD and retired cops working for the rich here in NYC who provide favors and fixing that is not policed by Internal Affairs who is clearly swamped.
I do think stop and frisk is terribly violating and must one day be stopped the sooner the better but until another way can be found to get guns off the street where bullets are flying like Viet Nam; just not tolerable the violence as well as stop and frisk that are as invasive as 2 example below on innocent people.
Based on the email I got that was craftily composed -- the jist in my opinion is NYPD officers feel they work so hard for us that they are entitled to be above the law. He notes I was wearing a pink NYPD cap (see link below) which I refer to when I found the illegal placard from the 5th Precinct with the PBA card in front of 120 West 12th St billionaire Rudin luxury condos and Rudin keeps retired NYPD on the payroll and it sure seems to me like they do fixing for him and his workers when I witness a retired NYPD commander ordering a cop to not ticket but hey that is just me.
The NYPD has a ticket fixing scandal that involves the PBA and clearly is rampant city wide including city hall. What fixing does the PBA and NYPD do that is the kind I witness? What other kind of fixing is done?
My response to the terrible person that emailed last night and this morning -- I am guessing is a corrupt cop by the People of NY's standard (or very close to one) although not by his skewed standards and any cop breaking that law rationalizing he or she is somehow entitled...http://suzannahbtroy.blogspot.com/2012/06/corrupt-nypd-officer-writes-me.html
Note: In Occupy Wall St. Free paper Metro Occupied Series 2 there is a very disturbing example of stop and frisk.
"Schedrick Campbell was walking home with a bag of dog food in March 2011 in Brooklyn when 3 plainclothes officers grabbed him, accused him of swallowing drugs and tackled him. After a strip search in the precinct and a series of forced invasive medical tests , over 2 days at Interfaith Hospital, no contraband was found. The hospital billed Campbell $9,500 for the concocted arrest."
"Gregory Pope was walking in Coney Island August 20 when 4 plainclothes officers jumped and searched him. He told them they could not search him for no reason. After they arrested him and strip searched him at the precinct.
The police also took his car to the precinct where they searched it and caused damage to the vehicle. Pope was held in the precinct for a day and than released without charges."
