Wow, the mayor says GPS will be installed on sanitation trucks so their location is known.
Also there will be people observing them with video cameras with live feeds to supervisors.
Note A NYer in Queens told me he saw a truck doing as little as possible and he thought it was because the sanitation worker wanted to make sure he got overtime. New Yorkers are angry and distrustful.
Mayor -- Where were you? Who was in charge of NYC if you were not available to be king of New York or a mayor's job is service! The mayor is picking the wrong heads.

Since mayor Mike Bloomberg took over have you ever seen the city look so awful The streets were better in Colonial Times, the subway looks like a Hollywood set for a horror movie, the empty store fronts and the mass displacement of New Yorkers and small businesses for the worst built most hideous sky piercing zone busting buildings plopped down on Old New York's infrastructure.
Lives could have been saved if DOB, and every city agency and Con Ed has simply said slow down mayor, safety first, address infrastructure problems but not enough people that should have did and how many people died? Too many. I am so glad the snow storm got people so angry.
