Mike Bloomberg pushed a reckless tsunami of development and infrastructure was not even a thought let alone the safety of NYers. Do not park your cars over a manhole cover because it may get toasted like a marshmallow and be careful when you walk you don't break your neck. The streets were better in colonial times. That is what you get when your city planner is a socialite mega-millionaire Amanda the people's Burden who helped all her pals bust thru zoning as our streets are buckling, constant gas leaks, man hole cover explosions, water main breaks and people are displaced, business have to close. 3rd world countries have better streets than NYC.
