Besides NYers outraged by guns taking lives on the streets there is the fact the streets are in horrible condition. As I filmed this I watched an officer rush to ticket a UPS van. part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-UbQ3rXCpo part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OefGTKLNJQc part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eZEpVzS2s8
The mayor pushed a reckless tsunami of community crushing development and too many infrastructures are collapsing. Mike Bloomberg's tsunami of community crushing development was like the tsunami from Wall Street, fueled by greed and stupidity and innocent people are paying the price. Note: May 14th they showed up to repair or patch the hole but one block east more problems -- see this link http://mayorbloombergkingofnewyork.blogspot.com/2009/05/well-they-finally-showed-up-and-they.html There was zero response in two days so I finally got a cone from a kind Con Ed worker. This could never have happened if we had a mayor that actually was tuned in to the people of the city and walked down the streets of our city but you will never see Mike Bloomberg walking here unless it is for promoting himself and getting a pat on the back from NYU, Cooper Union and all the developers he let supersize way too rapidly and recklessly on our old infrastructure. It caused more evictions, displacement and the streets are shot to hell. To got notifications to sign up for test program -- noticed they have so many infrastructure breaks -- they include that as part of their notification. http://www.nyc.gov/html/notifynyc/html/about/about.shtml Go to the first youtube on this and read the text portion see the links including footage from NY1 of the medium size water main break around the corner where I was interviewed. LInk in text portion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-UbQ3rXCpo The medium size water main break from around the corner where the street keeps opening up with a hole big enough for a garbage can and they patch it and it reopens and that is in the intersection across from love saves the day where the story used to be that is. The streets all over are cracked, broken, holes and some have deeper problems than the ones that may damage your car or a body part. http://www.ny1.com/Default.aspx?SecID=1000&ArID=69978 http://suzannahbtroy.blogspot.com/2008/07/httpwww_27.html
