Bloomberg's "new" New York tshirt is "I love NY, I just can't afford NY".
Bill scores right away on term limits, the fact middle class are being forced out and the fact Bloomberg raised prices.
Bill Thompson busts Bloomberg on Stuy Town and affordable housing. Bloomberg did nothing to speak up on behalf of affordable housing. Bloomberg has done zip. I have never seen him show up and speak up for any New Yorker being evicted ever!!!!!!! I also did not see The New York Times covering the Stuy Town rally which I attended. It should have been front page and it was not important enough for front page cover and again it appears The New York eminent domain Times is in bed with Mike Bloomberg. That was a very important rally talking about housing for New Yorkers and most of all the neediest and most vulnerable including people AIDS.
Bloomberg doesn't have a response and talked about transit.
Body language -- Bloomberg looks uptight and defensive. Thompson looks very perky and upbeat, in fact happy!
Bloomberg is in denial. The majority of New Yorkers do believe he is out of touch.
Thompson said 1 million middle class New Yorkers pushed out.
I submitted two questions: One on pay to play Steve Rattner Quadrangle asking how can Bloomberg talk about pay to play and shouldn't he dismiss Rattner as his personal money manager.
The other Miguel Martinez pleaded guilty and resigned as council member. He voted to extend term limits.
Didn't the mayor and Christine Quinn know that city council was being investigated. How could he deny us a referendum? Does he understand that the votes for term limits are tainted? They should be tossed.
I didn't copy my questions but that is the jist of the two questions.
On Police Commish -- I thought Bratton giving two week notice was an indicator that Bloomberg was going to dismiss Commish Kelly. From his comment sounds like he is going to keep him. Thompson never answered the question who he would appoint as Commissioner.
