Take Action: Tuesday in Manhattan | ||
Host: Martha R. Where: Manhattan City Hall Steps When: Tuesday, October 22 at 12 p.m. What: Join MoveOn members and elected officials to present our petition to Save New York City Libraries to Mayor Bloomberg. Help us send a message to our mayor and our next city officials that more than 14,000 of us are asking for a halt to the sell-off of our public libraries. The sell-off of libraries involves deals that remove once-sacred educational public resources to put them in the hands of people who would plunder and exploit them for personal wealth. This policy has led to diminishing opportunities and furthering of unnecessary mistrust of all public officials. Your presence is important to reinforce the power of the more than 14,000 names we have gathered so far on the petition we will be delivering. Can you join us in Manhattan on Tuesday?
