MET COUNCIL DIRECTOR, BOARD MEMBER TO TESTIFY AT MORELAND COMMISSION HEARING
The Moreland Commission - a panel of convened to investigate public corruption - is having their second hearing on Tuesday, September 24th in Albany. In the aftermath of the Met Council report (found HERE), all five developers involved in the 421A scandal have been subpoenaed by the Moreland Commission. This hearing will focus on the landlords and developers' use of the LLC loopholes to flood Albany with cash.
The Moreland Commission has requested the testimony of Michael McKee, board member of Tenants' PAC and Met Council, Inc, and Jaron Benjamin, the executive director at the Met Council on Housing, on Tuesday, September 24th in Albany.
While the hearing is in Albany, stay tuned for news and updates about the ongoing investigation and other upcoming New York City hearings.
REAL RENT REFORM MEETING MONDAY 9/23
Council Member Letitia James will attend the next Real Rent Reform meeting, as will Senator Daniel Squadron (or a staff member). Both will speak about the 421-A tax break scandal, and will take questions.

MET COUNCIL TO LAUNCH HOMERULE CAMPAIGN
As the Tenants Bill of Rights campaign approaches its end, Met Council is planning to work with tenant associations, community groups, and service providers from around the city to launch a campaign to repeal the Urstadt Law and regain home rule of the rent laws.
