According to a statement from Hewlett-Packard Co., Mr. Alexis was working for a company called “The Experts,” which H-P described as a subcontractor for an H-P contract on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet network. H-P said it was cooperating fully with law enforcement on the matter.

Michael Thacker, a spokesman for Hewlett-Packard, confirmed that Alexis worked for a company called "The Experts," a subcontractor working on an HP job to refresh networking equipment for the Navy Marine Corps intranet. Thacker could not say whether Alexis was still employed by that company at the time of his death.
