Hi All- As a reminder, Please join us for a letter writing drive in the 222 East 93rd St. Community Room on Monday (tomorrow) 9/26/11, 4p.m. - 8 p.m. (drop in any time during these hours).
As some of you may have seen, the Mayor's office has recently been sending a canned response to our requests for assistance with preventing the development of Ruppert Playground. The Mayor's form response (see copy below) is simply unacceptable. Please contact the Mayor's office as soon as you can via both phone (311) and on-line email to let them know that they must do more than just be "bringing this issue to [Related's] attention." They must be proactive and explore real alternatives with Related, for example, reasonable tax credits for Related, a land swap or another equivalent exchange with the City.
It is imperative that even if you have reached out to the Mayor's office already that you contact them again asking for them to do more as the Mayor is in the best position to actually save Ruppert Playground despite their 'pass the buck' stance below.
To submit a message to the Office of the Mayor on-line, you may use the webform at http://www.nyc.gov/html/mail/html/mayor.html
