Dear friend,

We stand - and sleep - in solidarity with the thousands of New Yorkers who will rally tomorrow to tell Bloomberg not to balance the city's budget on the backs of hard-working teachers and other public employees. Like the words now circulating around Facebook:

"Remember when Teachers, Public Employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out our 401ks, took trillions in tax-funded bail outs, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses and paid NO TAXES??? Yeah, me neither."
 
Preliminary Schedule of Events - Bloombergville

Tuesday, June 14
4:30 pm: DC 37 Fightback Rally at City Hall, endorsed by TWU, UFT and more. UFT assembling at Brooklyn UFT Office at 335 Adams Street at 4 pm and marching across the Brooklyn Bridget at 4:30 pm.
6:30 pm: Bloombergville begins: assemble east of City Hall
8 pm: General assembly
9 pm: Dinner
10 pm: Open teach-ins on the cuts

Wednesday, June 15
8 am: Breakfast
10 am: General assembly
10 am: Committee on Economic Development hearing, 250 Broadway, 16th fl.
1-3 pm: “March for the Middle Class,” endorsed by the NYC Central Labor Council, the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York, and more. Assemble at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn at 1 pm, march across the Brooklyn Bridge at 2:30 pm.
5-7 pm: Metropolitan Council on Housing protest to strengthen rent laws, Gov. Cuomo’s office, 633 3rd Avenue at 41st Street
