Hi All- As a reminder:
We are planning our second letter writing drive day on Monday 12/19 from 4pm to 8pm in the community room at 222 East 93rd street (see details below). We need volunteers for this event especially starting at 3:30pm and donations of stamps and envelopes. Please contact me via phone or email to help. Our goal is to send out over 1,000 letters again (last time we sent out over 1,400 and achieved our goal of garnering the attention and commitment of elected officials including Speaker Quinn).
Additionally, we need help promoting the event by posting the flyer in buildings and local businesses in the community. So if you can donate copies or better yet distribute the flyer that would be greatly appreciated (see attached flyer).
The focus of this letter writing campaign is to contact the New York Proton Regional Cancer Treatment Center who is now the potential commercial anchor tenant at the proposed site and tell them that although we support treatment options for those with cancer we do not feel this is an appropriate site for this type of center.
We also have some very important new updates to report with respect to our strategy for action from a legal and governmental due process perspective. We would rather not put a full description in a mass e-mail as they are in process, but I would be happy to discuss in person. SO PLEASE ATTEND THIS EVENT!

Ruppert Park May Be Closed and Sold Like Too Many Fire Houses! Email the mayor! Why is the Press not reporting the news?
What is the Bloomberg administration doing to help alleviate a severe lack of park and open space conditions on the upper?
A park that has served the community for more than 25 years --- 92 and 93 between 2nd and 3rd Avenue -- Ruppert Park is now in jeopardy and why is that -- more real estate greed?
Why has the media covered-up this story?
Is it because the park is not “that far” from Bloomberg’s mansion and his “charity mansion” ?
Write 311 and tell mayor Bloomberg he should save Ruppert Park!
